Indian Lake Restoration Project
The first step to the Indian Lake Restoration project included the removal of carp from the lake. Indian Lake is a really turbid system and was dominated by algae, the removal of most of the carp population has already helped the plant community reestablish itself, but it needs help.

Step two of the restoration process is to improve the vegetation. The native plants augment the habitat not only for the fish, but also the wild life. Volunteers have planted pond lilies which creates good habitat for desirable game fish.

Ohio Tough on Invasive Species Issues - People who dump quagga mussels, snakeheads and other invasive species into Ohio's waterways would face criminal penalties, under legislation being considered in the Ohio House. HB 396 would prohibit the possession, sale or introduction of quagga and zebra mussels, rusty crayfish, snakeheads and certain carp, among other species.
