DNR Video Shows Frenzied Asian carp Leaping From Illinois River
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources sent an 11-man team to Illinois last week to get some practice with Asian carp management. And boy, did they ever.
The agency released video shot on the Illinois River near Morris on Aug. 5 showing hundreds of bighead and silver carp leaping frantically out of the water in the fashion for which the invasive fish has become famous and feared.
Thousands of bighead and silver carp from the river over three days and were sent to a processor to be made into fertilizer.
