Michigan's waters are impacted by an ever-growing list of invasive species, including aquatic plants, fish, invertebrates and microscopic organisms.
Though it seems that these invasive species would increase biodiversity in our waters, the opposite is the reality.
The native species can't compete with the invasive and seem to disappear from the ecosystem. The invasive species disrupt the relationships between native organisms and the aquatic environment.
