Hyacinth Invasion in Kenya
For over 10 years this port in Kenya was packed with water hyacinth so thick that boats could not move. Hippo grass (vossia) along with papyrus and 21 other plant species grew along the hyacinth beds as well.
That is until 1999 when Aquarius Systems provided a Swamp Devil, also know as a vegetation cutter, which shredded the dense mats and a weed harvester which would follow behind collecting and storing the cut weeds.
