Giant Goldfish who Steal Sperm to Clone Selves Spotted in Saskatchewan
Hundreds of Prussian carp — a female fish that can replicate itself using sperm from other species — have been found in Saskatchewan waters.

Prussian carp are an aquatic invasive species in Canada in the same genus as goldfish.

Their reproductive process, called gynogenesis, has made them prolific breeders.

Lake Hopatcong Weed Harvesting - The commission was asked if they ever considered bringing in grass-eating carp. Fred Lubnow of Princeton Hydro, the commission’s environmental consultants, explained the state Division of Fish and Wildlife does not allow sterile carp in bodies of water of more than 10 acres. Lubnow said the concern is the carp may not actually be sterile, as they are purported to be, and may escape downstream.
