Indian Lake Watershed District in Ohio took delivery of their new aquatic weed harvester on May 11th, 2011. Community members and business owners held several fund raising events to raise money to ensure the harvester stays on Indian Lake.

 Eurasian watermilfoil is a type of submersed aquatic plant, meaning it is a rooted plant that has stems and leaves that grow entirely underwater. It begins growing in early spring, sooner than most native plants, and has an aggresive growth rate. 

The vegetation adjacent to lakes and rivers is often referred to as shoreland. This land serves as a bridge between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and serves many important functions.
