HF 1162 Sounds Scary, but Good for the Environment
HF 1162 is a bill unveiled in the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources Committee in New York. It contains mechanics that DNR officials hope with help in the fight against aquatic invasive species.

Under the bill fines for violations of the law have been increased n addition to requiring those who work installing docks and boatlifts to undergo training and become certified. Civil penalties for violations of this new legislation range from $100 to $500. Fines for repeat violators could be doubled.
