Aquarius Systems Aquatic Weed Harvesting Seminar

The Aquatic Plant Harvester seminar was a great success! We had over 80 people representing 33 organizations from six states attend.

The morning session had three talks: One on safety; a harvesting program case study; and an aquatic plant identification class conducted by the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources. They had live weeds to examine along with plants that were dried and mounted.

After a nice luncheon the afternoon session moved to our factory where the attendees broke into small groups and rotated through seven stations in 30 minute increments to learn about maintenance and repairs.

The program was well received by the participants and we will probably do this again sometime next spring.

Indiana Allows BP to Pollute Lake Michigan with Toxic Mercury - When exposed for excessive dumping, BP backed down and the company agreed to abide by stricter limits on ammonia, which promotes algae blooms that kill fish, and suspended solids, bits of refinery sludge that contain heavy metals. Indiana environmental regulators gave them an exemption.
