Eagle River Chain of Lakes Pink Bucket Program
In an effort to control the spread of the invasive species Eurasian water milfoil, the Eagle River Chain of Lakes Association (ERCLA) has provided pink buckets and aquatic invasive species (AIS) identification materials for recreationists to take with them while on the water.
The intent is for disposing of the aquatic weed properly rather than tossing them back into the lake where the water milfoil can spread and take root in other parts of the lake. Once on shore, the weeds can be dumped into waste receptacles which Eagle Waste has provided and will empty free of charge for the entire summer season.
The Pink Bucket Program sponsored by the ERCLA in an innovative way to help bridge the gap between the more traditional AIS signage at the boat landings and boaters utilizing the lakes.
