Enjoy Lakes and Live Longer
A research team at the University of Exeter in Great Britain found that people who live near water tend to live longer. It is another strong argument in the fight to keep the Great Lakes and their beaches clean.

The team based their conclusion on a correlation it found in British census data on human health and the environment. Among its theories: less stress, more outdoor activity, a calmer lifestyle, and the soothing effects of sunsets and walks on a beach.

Grass Carp Discoveries Concern Wisconsin Fisheries Officials - The grass carp is an herbivorous freshwater fish which is cultivated in China for food, but deliberately introduced in the United States in 1963 for aquatic weed control. While it is considered an invasive species in the US, it is still stocked in many states as an effective biocontrol for invasive plant species.
