DNR Won’t Poison Aquatic Plants
The Department of Natural Resources won’t use aquatic herbicides to attack invasive Eurasian water milfoil in Western Maryland’s Deep Creek Lake this year. Residents say the aquatic plant threatens recreational boating on the lake, but according to a DNR study, the milfoil is not outcompeting native aquatic plants so it will not be killed.
