Drawdown to Target Eurasian Water Milfoil
In an effort to freeze out the roots of the invasive species Eurasian water milfoil, the Chippewa Flowage will be drawn down five feet from its normal elevation. There will also be a slow winter drawdown that will eventually leave the flowage at an eight foot overall reduction in elevation.

Starry Stonewort Battle Could Switch to Hand-to-Hand Combat
- Lakes that are over-managed with chemical treatments, which can kill native plant species, can actually increase the spread of some non-native species. While the treatment may temporarily reduce a starry stonewort population, it also opens the door to future spreading by potentially killing native plants that would otherwise compete with the invasive species.
