Eagle River Chain of Lakes Receives Grant to Continue Eurasian Watermilfoil Treatment
The Eagle River Chain of Lakes has received a grant for $122,576 to continue management of Eurasian watermilfoil during 2014 and 2015.

Since the Eagle River Chain began monitoring milfoil six years ago, a total of 1034 acres have been treated at a cost of $1,287,816. The state share of the project was $711,702.

Triploid Grass Carp Destroy Fishery - Caney Lake was once the hottest bass fishery on the continent until complaints about submerged aquatic vegetation by landowners led to the introduction of triploid grass carp. The carp fed on the vegetation leaving bare bottom that caused a decline in the fisher that has never again reached those historic levels.
