Conventional wisdom going into this spring and summer was that the heavy snowfall of this year — including on frozen lakes — would mean less milfoil on local lakes

Naegleria fowleri, a bain-eating amoeba has already killed at least two children this summer and has prompted health officials to chlorinate the water supply to kill the amoeba.
