Group to Review AIS Treatment on Eagle Chain
A public information meeting was held to provide a summary of aquatic invasive species management that occurred in 2014 as well as an overview of the proposed 2015 treatment program on the Eagle River Chain.

The presentation addressed the Eurasian watermilfoil treatment and the criteria used to evaluate the success of the treatments.

The Eagle River Chain began managing Eurasian water milfoil seven years ago and a total of 1,047 acres have been treated at a total project cost of $1,536,465. The state share of this project was $836,025.

However, excessive growth inhibits plant diversity, reduces fish and wildlife habitat and hastens eutrophication of the marsh.
