| We place a great deal of
emphasis on the safety, quality and durability of our
equipment. Over the last 40 years, we have developed and
tested many different designs and ideas. Through extensive
experience we have learned which components work well and
which do not. Most importantly, we have always believed that
safety is not an option.
The machines we offer today
are the safest, most reliable machines available on the
market. Browse through the details below to see the
distinctive safety and quality features that set our equipment
apart.

Paddle Wheel Guard
|
 |
The paddle wheels are an
integral part of the harvesters that present a danger to
the operator or passengers if
someone were to slip and
fall into one. The paddle wheels on all harvesters are
completely surrounded with guards to prevent serious
injury.

Guarded Drive Assembly
|
|
All hydraulic motor chain
drive assemblies are guarded to prevent accidental
entanglement.
|

Unshielded Hydraulics
|
|
Hydraulic oil averages
140° – 160° F (60° - 71° C) during normal operation.
For this reason, all hydraulic hoses, fittings and valves
at the operator console are completely enclosed to protect
the operator in the event of a failure.

Shielded Hydraulics
|

Safety Railings & Bimini Canopy
|
|
OSHA
regulation safety railings protect the operator
and passengers. An extra large bimini canopy
provides protection from the sun and rain.
|
|

Super Strong Hull |
|
Using technology based on
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Standards, our barge
style hulls are the strongest, lightest hull design
available in the industry. Reinforced frames throughout
the barge interior provide superior strength in the
longitudinal, transverse and vertical directions.
Watertight sealed bulkheads serve to contain water to a
single compartment in the unlikely event of a leak.

High Quality Stainless Steel Tubing
|
|
Stainless steel tubing is
used to run all hydraulic lines, except where flexibility
is required. Stainless tubing is a high quality feature
that never wears out and is not subject to deterioration
when exposed to the elements. The stainless tubing is also
much neater in appearance, and makes tracing hydraulic
lines much easier.
|

Rubber Hose Only Used for Flexibility
|
|
Rubber hose is used only
where flexibility is required, such as at conveyor pivot
points. We use only high quality Dayco Eastman brand
double braided rubber hose and matching fittings. Trained
technicians do all hose fitting and crimping. Click

Paddle Wheel Drive System
|
|
Heavy duty, high torque
hydraulic motors and precision-machined gear reducers
drive the paddle wheels. Having abandoned the use of
direct drive systems over a decade ago, the new two-stage
system provides outstanding, trouble free performance.
|

Split Operator/Engine Platform
|
|
We offer a choice between
split operator and engine platforms, or a single conjoined
operator/engine platform.
|

Aluminum Cab with Air Conditioning
|
|
Aluminum cabs are
available on most models for the comfort and safety of the
operator. The cabs come equipped with one or two doors,
tinted safety glass, a windshield wiper and electric fan.
For climate control, heating and/or air conditioning can
also be added.

Fixed Plastic Fuel Tank
|
|
For clients with dockside
fueling stations we offer permanent plastic or stainless
steel fuel tanks available in
capacities
from 15 to 50
gallons (55 to 190 liters). If fuel must be brought in
from another location, we suggest using 6 gallon (22
liter) portable fuel tanks.

Pivoting Spring Suspension
|
|
The cutter head impact
protection system comes in a choice of two pivoting styles
to absorb major impacts: The standard pivoting spring
suspension system or optional pivoting swing suspension
system. Both feature a series of shock absorbers behind
the horizontal cutter bar to sustain minor impacts with
underwater obstacles. The combined spring/shock absorber
system allows a total of 24" (60 cm) of travel; and
the combined swing/shock absorber system allows a total of
34" (86 cm) of travel.

Hydraulically Retractable Paddle Wheels
|
|
The
harvesters are available with optional
hydraulically retractable paddle wheels. This
option is especially popular for lake managers
who must frequently relocate the equipment from
one lake to another.
