Fracking is Destroying U.S. Water Supply
An alarming new study reveals fracking is quite simply destroying America’s water supply.

That means we are losing potable water forever in many semi-arid regions of the country, while simultaneously producing more carbon pollution that in turn is driving ever-worsening droughts in those same regions.

While first generation fracking wells used 3 to 5 millions gallons of water, current third generation wells use 10 to 30 million gallons.

Invasive Aquatic Weed, Starry Stonewort, Creeps Across US - Scientists don’t know a lot yet about starry stonewort, but they’re hurrying to find out more. The plant, which forms dense surface mats in lakes, first turned up in North America in 1978 in the St. Lawrence River in New York state. Researchers think it probably arrived in ballast water from ships entering the Great Lakes.
