Phosphorus is Vanishing from the Soil but is Reappearing in Waterways
Phosphorus-enriched soil is very much essential for agricultural purposes. But the current alarming fact is, this nutrient is increasingly being lost from soils all around the world.  This mineral is one of the vital factors for the world’s food production and there isn't an unlimited supply of this from the soil.

Phosphorus in the soil flushed out of agricultural soils into wetlands and local bodies because of the erosion. The excess of nutrients harms the aquatic plant and animals.

Green Lake County Conservation Department News - Green Lake County is located at the southern end of the “New North” region in Wisconsin. Green Lake County has a total area of 380 square miles, of which 26 square miles is water. It is also home to Wisconsin’s deepest lake; Green Lake has a maximum depth of 237 feet and covers an area 7 ½ miles long and 2 ½ miles wide.
